I’m a wife, mother and grandmother who somehow found her way into building websites back in 1996. As the MC who introduced me at the Brisbane WordCamp put it… that makes me older than Google.

Yes, I was around before the Google boys set up shop in their mother’s garage.

By 1998 I was building websites, affiliate marketing sites and e-Commerce sites fulltime and I’ve been doing that ever since.

Apart from building websites I’ve done consulting work for businesses from Argentina to Canada. Portugal to Russia, Fiji and here in Australia too.

I’ve worked with rural contractors, tourist resort operators, indigenous groups, real estate agents, gardeners, cleaners, butcher shops, fruit and veggie home delivery people, coffee shops, cafes, car dealers, education providers, course creators, gun shops, museums, media companies, psychologists … and that’s only part of the list.

Here in Australia my clients stretch from Perth through the Simpson Desert to Victoria, NSW and throughout Queensland.

Over the last couple of years more and more people who come to me for websites are wanting online shops and, while I started with Zencart, I’ve become more and more interested, and focused on, WooCommerce.

I have become so focused on WooCommerce that these days it is the only thing I use for online shops.

In my spare time I’ve spoken to small business groups and been a mentor in a small business program run by the Fraser Coast Regional Council.

I’ve also been a ghost writer for a single mother living in America who wanted to get her story out there and I helped found a support group for mothers who have lost their children through adoption.

And sometimes I cook… but never garden.
